Winter Camp for Roma Girls

On 2-5 February in Kazanlak was the winter camp for girls from the Roma district of Stara Zagora. in Kazanlak. The topic of the camp: “Messy tales”.

Right after they arrived, the girls were crowned as princesses. But they had to create their own crowns. They had three tutors, who cared after them during the whole camp. They had to teach all of them to a royal etiquette. The purpose of the camp was the princesses to put in order the messy tales and to kill the evil magician, who had bewitched the Land of the tales.

The young princesses learned how to cook for the King, divided to two groups. They created jewelries and dresses.
The last night was a dancing night. Then, the girls were learning some dancing stiles – horo (Bulgarian traditional), Czech dances. They also showed us their skills in modern ballet which they learn in the foundation and the oriental belly dance, which is traditional in their local society.
With common effort and charisma, the princesses managed to save the Land of the tales.
