Winter Camp for Roma Boys
Winter Camp for Roma Boys During the third weekend of January in Kazanlak we experienced winter camp for Roma boys. The topic of the camp was about the Biblical hero Joshua, who leads Israilites to the Promised land.
On Friday evening 10 boys from Stara Zagora arrived. After the dinner was the first game. The boys had to go to the graveyard and to take the casket of Moses, the 10 commandments, the stick of Moses and manna, avoiding the guards of the Promised land. But the guards themselves were controlled the municipal police
On Saturday after the breakfast was the next stage – Israelite spies were scouting the Promised Land. The boys, divided into two groups, had to go around the town and to mark some interesting places. But this was not so easy task. They had to hide from the guards, who were armed with photo cameras. During the afternoon, we went to the mountain out of the city to sled and to enjoy the winter and the snow. We went back in Kazanlak – frozen and tired, but joyful. On Sunday, after the liturgy, we had the conclusive game – the boys besieged and overtook Jericoh with paper balls. After launch and cleaning, we all went home.
